A Course with Character
The Bridges at Beresford was originally built on 35 acres and redesigned in the early 2000s, it now spans 140 acres of well-maintained fairways, ponds, and elevation changes. Its name honors the eight bridges scattered across the layout, each donated by local South Dakota communities. They serve as both functional design elements and living pieces of history, connecting golfers not just to the game—but to the region itself.
Completed in 2007, the clubhouse includes a full-service bar, indoor seating, and an inviting outdoor patio overlooking the course. From post-round drinks to full community events, the clubhouse doubles as Beresford’s go-to event space—hosting graduation parties, fundraisers, bridal showers, and more.
A Course That Feels Like Home: Why is it called Bridges?
The course features eight physical bridges, each donated by South Dakota municipalities. These aren’t replicas or stylized decorations; they’re real structures repurposed from surrounding towns, giving the course a sense of place that’s deeply tied to the community. One golfer even returned after 15 years just to walk the bridge donated by her hometown.

Built for Beresford — Supported by the Community
This is a city-run course that locals are proud of. From senior leagues who plant trees to youth who help maintain the grounds, The Bridges represents more than golf. It’s a shared space for the Beresford community—rooted in pride, improved through effort, and enjoyed by all. Some tournaments at The Bridges have been running for over 30 years.
The course hosts a mix of fundraisers, corporate outings, and community events, including the South Dakota Showdown, which supports scholarships for students attending SDSU and USD. The clubhouse often fills with alumni, families, and golfers decked out in school colors, reinforcing the strong connection between the course and the greater Beresford community.
